Liann Nicholson is a freelance stage manager based out of Chicago, IL. She has worked for a diverse range of organizations including The House Theatre of Chicago, Monomoy Theatre (Chatham, MA), Ash Lawn Opera (Charlottesville, VA), The Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Stage Left Theatre, and, most recently, The Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire. It is through these opportunities that she has developed the skills necessary to communicate effectively, anticipate problems, smoothly and efficiently facilitate the rehearsal process, and remain adaptive and calm under pressure.
Liann is originally from Elmhurst, IL and has a BFA in Theatre Production, Design, & Technology from Ohio University.
In addition to stage management, Liann has also studied lighting and costume design, construction, and crafts. Her appreciation of the multitude of talents needed to stage a successful show enables her to collaborate effectively with cast and crew alike. She is always happy to lend a hand where it is needed and can often be found helping out in various shops.
Statistically, Liann is probably in a theatre right now. If she isn’t, then she’s most likely reading, cooking, watching movies featuring heists and explosions...or shopping for really cool shoes.
